Back to Spain!

Due to the absence of many World Cups and five-star show, Niels, like many other Belgians, chose this year to start the new year at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour of Oliva, Spain. Last week, during the opening week, he appeared at the start with no fewer than 7 different horses with the main goal of getting back into the competition rhythm, but some of them also immediately managed to ensure a good result.

With the Diamant de Semilly daughter Diornella-D, Niels was one of the combinations that qualified for the jump-off on Sunday during the CSI2* Grand Prix. They eventually managed to achieve a nice 11th place after they saw a pole roll out of the cups along the way in the jump-off.

There were also some nice results for our black gelding Matador, with whom Niels immediately managed to take care of 3 clear rounds. During the 1.45m Longines Ranking class on Friday, their clear 2nd stage resulted in a 10th place. A day later, Niels also finished 10th in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class, but this time with Hespro Ryal K. They were one of the 14 combinations that qualified for the jump-off.

Finally, Liarada S also jumped a good show during this first week under the Spanish sun. They managed to ensure a clear round on both Thursday and Friday.
