Delux Van T&L 3rd in the CSI5 * GP of Doha!

After a few weeks, and even months, of only showing at two and three star level, Niels was eagerly looking forward to being able to compete with the world top at the very highest level again last weekend. To warm up for the new season of the Longines Global Champions Tour, which starts next weekend, in Al Shaqab in Doha they jumped at five-star level in recent days and that immediately resulted in some top performances for Niels.

Niels traveled to the oil state with Frenchy VDS and Delux Van T&L and both horses immediately showed that they are ready for the new outdoor season. Frenchy VDS, who had not jumped a big show since October, jumped directly to a placing in the 1.50m main class on Thursday during the opening day. In this class against the clock Niels and Frenchy VDS managed to keep it clear and their time of 62.71 seconds gave them a nice 8th place.

But the moment of the weekend came on Saturday evening during a very exciting CSI5* GP! Niels and Delux Van T&L were one of the 6 combinations that managed to keep it clear in both rounds of the Grand Prix and so qualified for an all-deciding jump-off. As the third combination at the start in that jump-off, Niels and Delux Van T&L managed to do it again clear and they finished on a brilliant 3rd place after a finish time of 36.82 seconds.
