Fifth place for Jenson at CSI5* Prague

The Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix and the Global Champions League Final were at stake this weekend during CSI5* Prague. As a member of the Prague Lions, Niels was determined to achieve a super result.

For the quarterfinals of the GCL Play Off, Niels therefore called on Gancia de Muze, who jumped to a fantastic clear round. Team mate Marc Houtzager also had Sterrehof’s Calimero jumping fantastically and kept the zero on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, teammate Gerco Schröder saw three fences coming down with Glock’s Cognac Champblanc, making the team eventually finish in seventh place. Fortunately, they managed to qualify for the semi-final! Phew...

Also in the semi-final Gancia did perfectly what was expected of her with a penalty-free result. Unfortunately for Niels, both team-mate Marc Houtzager (Sterrehof’s Dante) and team-mate Marco Kutscher (Casallvano) now saw a fence coming down, making it over and out for the Prague Lions.

Not only Gancia competed in Prague, also Jenson jumped for the big money. The bay stallion by Vagabond de la Pomme did an excellent job: he jumped a clear round in the 1m55 class on the opening day and followed with a fifth place in the 1m50 class on Saturday!

But that was not the only class scheduled for Saturday ... The highly doted Super Grand Prix also took place on Saturday. Gancia jumped well in the first round of this high and technical class, but unfortunately Niels and Gancia could not prevent one pole rolling out of the cups. With only 4 clears in the first round, there was still hope for a top ranking... Unfortunately the second round did not go smoothly. The verdict was hard: 12 penalty points. Not the hoped-for result, but there's nothing else to do but look ahead: off to Madrid!
