Strong performances and promising young horses at the Brussels Stephex Masters
The Brussels Stephex Masters once again brought together some of the world’s best combinations for five days of top-level sport, and it proved to be a positive week for the Stal Bruynseels team, with strong performances across both the CSI5* classes and the young horse divisions.
Niels started the 5* competition on a high note aboard Devidanga SW Z, producing a clear round in Thursday’s CSI5* 1.50m against the clock. Their performance earned them 7th place in a competitive field of 54 combinations.
Oaky Flandria stepped up for the bigger classes, including Sunday’s prestigious CSI5 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix*. The pair produced another convincing round at the highest level, with just one unfortunate pole keeping them out of the second round. Nevertheless, Oaky once again demonstrated her ability and consistency on the biggest stages of the sport.
A faultless week for Celangelo Z
There was also plenty to be excited about from two of the stable’s NB Stallions.
Six-year-old Celangelo Z enjoyed an outstanding week, completing all three of his rounds without a jumping fault. Niels guided the promising stallion through the 1.25m and 1.30m young horse classes, giving him another valuable experience at an impressive international venue.
Vintage arrived in Brussels in excellent form and continued to show his quality throughout the week. After a double-clear performance in Thursday’s 7/8YO class, he concluded his show with 12th place in Saturday’s 1.40m/1.45m Final, producing a clear first round before finishing with four faults in the jump-off.
Both stallions continue to combine their breeding careers with impressive development in the sport, making their performances in Brussels particularly encouraging for the future.
Jailbreak d’Argance continues to impress
Oleksandr Prodan also enjoyed a successful week with the stable’s younger horses.
One of the highlights came from the very promising Jailbreak d’Argance. After jumping clear to finish 9th in Friday’s 7/8YO class, the pair stepped up again for Saturday’s Final. Two faultless rounds secured an excellent 5th place, adding another strong result to the young horse’s developing record.
With encouraging performances from the young horses alongside solid results at CSI5* level, the team delivered another valuable week for the season and plenty of reasons to look forward to what comes next.
