The four-year-old Un Baron van de Zeshoek is one of Niels Bruynseels’s personal favorites. “It's been a long time since I've been so excited about a young horse. When I saw him jump for the first time, I was instantly in love. Last year, I’ve bred all our good young mares to him, and I'm looking forward to about fifteen foals from Un Baron this year. He is an exceptional talent that I have incredibly high expectations for. Un Baron has great balance, a very good way of jumping, excellent leg technique, a lot of power, and a very good use of the body. Additionally, he has the right amount of blood and possesses excellent rideability.” The BWP approved Un Baron van de Zeshoek is being trained by Jorik Vervoort, after which Niels will take over.

Sire El Barone 111 Z has stood out from a young age and has performed at the highest level under Malin Baryard-Johnsson. This sensational jumping son of Emerald van ’t Ruytershof has made a promising start in breeding, as his first offspring are making a mark at 1.35/1.40m level. Un Baron van de Zeshoek has also inherited first-class jumping genes from his dam’s side. His dam Quibelle van de Zeshoek had a strong season last year under Marit Haarr Skollerud-Cox, with whom she was claiming good results in the Young Horse competitions at 1.35/1.40m level, and this eight-year-old mare is now continuing her sporting career successfully under Daan Bernaerts. Granddam Galina van de Zeshoek has foaled the young, international 1.45m level jumping horse Philou MXL (s.E-Star) as well as the Zangersheide approved stallion Diego van de Zeshoek Z (s.Dominator 2000 Z). In the third generation, this performance line traces back to a half-sister of, among others, the Grand Prix mare Bijou Orai (s.Toulon), who is well-known in breeding as the dam of top progenitor Eldorado van de Zeshoek (s.Clinton) and the Grand Prix showjumper GL Events Dorai d’Aiguilly (s.Kannan), with whom Olivier Perreau is on the longlist for the Olympics in 2024.
