The BWP approved stallion Qupido H is a promising son of Grand Prix horse progenitor Cicero Z out of a successful damline. “Already at the stallion approval in Lier, Qupido H made a huge impression on me in free jumping, and I was motivated by his bloodline as well, which led me to purchase him from his breeders, the De Pelsmaeker family”, Niels Bruynseels explains about the eight-year-old future star. Qupido H was named second reserve champion at the BWP stallion approvals and has since been trained by Jorik Vervoort. “Qupido has been with me since he was six years old. I believe he has everything it takes for the big sport. He has a lot of blood and is sensitive, so I'm really taking my time with him. Qupido is very careful and has a very good way of jumping; he's flexible and has a lot of athletic ability.” Niels and Qupido H got off to a strong start in 2024 with several notable clear rounds at 1.40m level.

Under Dirk Demeersman, sire Cicero Z van Paemel excelled at the highest level, and offspring like Fenia van Klapscheut, Gigolo, H&M Gitania V G, Eristov and Izzy by Picobello have already followed in his footsteps. Another highlight in Qupido H’s pedigree is his dam Daloubette van de Krekebeke, who performed at the highest level as well. Under Bart Clarys and Julie De Pelsmaeker, this daughter of Olympic champion Baloubet du Rouet was placed in several Grand Prixs. Besides, Daloubette van de Krekebeke has already produced ten internationally jumping offspring, including the 1.55/1.60m level performer Jaloubet van de Oosthoeve (s.Berlin) ridden by Juan Carlos Perez Esparza. Previously, the BWP studbook approved the stallion Pocket Rocket H (s.Kannan) out of Daloubette.

The first offspring of Qupido H were born in 2020 and show a lot of talent. Niels states: “Just like their father, his offspring have a lot of blood and quality. They jump well off the ground and have a bright future ahead of them.”
