Vintage is a very modern and athletic stallion, who possesses a light-footed way of cantering and jumping, a blood-made conformation and excellent rideability. This six-year-old stallion stands out with his natural talent and comes from a prominent German family. “I spotted Vintage at the stallion approvals in Oldenburg and purchased him there together with Paul Schockemöhle. He then came to our stable and is being trained by Jorik Vervoort, with whom he is doing a great job. Vintage is getting stronger and has tremendous talent as a showjumper. Additionally, he is very light-footed, has a lot of blood, and jumps with a very good use of the body. On top of that, Vintage has a delightful character: he really likes to work together with his rider,” says Niels Bruynseels.

In the stallion competition, Vintage has already shown his qualities and enormous potential, living up to his fantastic pedigree. He is a very blood-made son of the genetically valuable Grand Prix stallion Vagabond de la Pomme, who participated in the European Championships in Gothenburg with Pénélope Leprévost and finished second in the World Cup Final in Las Vegas and the 5* Grand Prixs of Paris and Basel. In breeding, Vagabond de la Pomme is making great progress as he sired standouts like Jenson van ’t Meulenhof Z, Major Tom and Exquise du Pachis. It’s worth noting that Vintage’s dam, Ilona, is a half-sister of the international sport stallion Check In (s.Cordalmé Z), who competed at the WEG in Tryon with Samantha McIntosh and was placed in a series of Nations Cup competitions and Grand Prixs, as well as the international 1.50/1.55m level horses Check Up 3 (s.Cordalmé Z) of Vincent Elbers and the stallion Checkter (s.Cellestial) of Cian O’Connor. Granddam Ilonka has performed at 1.40m level and also foaled the international 1.45m level showjumper Lavender Brown (s.Lintoc) of Gilbert Böckmann. Vintage has inherited blood and jumping ability from his dam’s sire, Grand Prix horse progenitor Numero Uno (s.Libero H), as well.

In 2023, Vintage's first offspring were born. “We have used him for our own breeding program from the start, and Vintage seems to pass on a lot of blood, long legs and a very light-footed way of cantering to his offspring. Moreover, they are almost all dark bay and have inherited the looks of their father.”
